Dear Uber

Welcome to the Schmoozeletter Blog. Your source for weekly water cooler wisecracks from the world of finance. If you have an opinion different than mine or a topic you want to hear about, let me know!

This week, the undisputed king of investing hangs up his abacus. Your favorite investor’s favorite investor announced he is retiring from his company at the end of this year.

The Oracle of Omaha is walking away from Berkshire Hathaway and leaving it with a staggering 348 billion in cold hard dollar bills.

Just an absolute fortress of cash.

Good guy Warren proved you don’t need to be a scumbag to make it in the finance industry. You can use your influence to rip people off and endorse borderline scams by hawking completely worthless products that will only make yourself wealthier…

Or you can pay your taxes and be a good person and still make it to the top.

Pour out a cold Coca-Cola for the GOAT.

Quarterly earnings season is winding down and one company who reported this week was UBER. Another solid quarter and yet the stock price decreased. It got me thinking…

Dear Uber

Dear Uber
Dear Uber
Why does Mr. Market hate you so?
Dear Uber
Dear Uber
Why no respect for how you grow?

18% growth in gross bookings
Should Wall Street take another look?

45% in profitability
Why aren’t the haters shook?

Market leadership globally
The best in the space

Partnerships galore

Poised to win the race

Free cash is flowing
Now multiple billis

Yet the P/E is so low
What’s your heel of Achilles?

Metrics look good
I see nothing out of whack

Crossed that profitability line
And never looking back

Leading the robotaxi race
Partnering with the big players

Is the competition too fierce?
Or will you be the Tesla slayers?

But here, we go by the numbers
And they’re quite good

Call an UBER to your portfolio?
Perhaps you should.

Final Thought
